I used to love stories about how founders, entrepreneurs, and artists got their big break. Now they make me want to delete LinkedIn and live in a cave. This is a full-bodied rant about why I can’t stand “How I Built This” stories anymore. Sure, they’re shiny, snackable, and inspiring — but they don’t uplift me. They unravel me. Beneath the humblebrags and hindsight, the survivorship bias and startup lore, lies something much murkier — and more personal. Maybe you’ll relate.
